Biography
Dr. Matthew Allison is a vibrant musician, active as a freelance flutist and operating a successful teaching studio.  In addition to a decade of professional teaching experience at nationally accredited institutions, he has regionally performed and taught at Mansfield University, The College of New Jersey, Pennsylvania Music Educator Association, Pennsylvania Music Teacher Association, with the Harrisburg Symphony, as soloist/principal of the Allegro Chamber Orchestra.  He has also been a clinician and recitalist at Southern Illinois Univeristy-Edwardsville, University of Missouri-St. Louis, Washburn University (KS), the University of Louisville (KY), Luther College (IA), and dozens of high schools and middle schools throughout the county.

Dr. A was recently the Flute Instructor and Chair of Theory and Composition at the Pennsylvania Academy of Music.  Previously, he was the flute and band teaching assistant at the University of Kansas, a faculty member at the Midwestern Music Camp, a faculty member of the Vivace International Music Festival, and flute instructor of the University of Louisville Preparatory Department.  Dr. A's scholarly and pedagogical writings have been published in journals including Flute Talk Magazinge.  He also works with musicians' health, as a certified and experienced yoga instructor.  Matthew Allison is also the Artistic Director of the Flute Fest of Central PA.
